City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Okay, I took my time reading this one. I LOVE the series so much, and I was very worried about reading the ending. The final battle was absolutely INCREDIBLE, and I have so many thoughts and feelings about it. In this one, I like that I got to see more of the complexities of everyone's relationships: Jace and Clary, Alec and Magnus, Izzy and Simon, and even Luke and Jocelyn. I feel like I got to learn so much more about the characters that I've gotten to know so well and love.
Jace finally being rid of the Heavenly Fire, and he and Clary finally being able to touch and be next to each other without being afraid of getting hurt, was so important for me. These two characters have gone through SO MUCH, so I was very happy with the fact that they could finally go back to their "normal."
A lot of my favourite moments are at the end of the book. For instance, I loved the scene of everyone saying goodbye to Simon when he sacrifices himself and his memories for everyone's safety. I was indeed crying because he is so important to all the characters, and it felt like a forever goodbye. I also loved the moment when Simon had a brief remembrance of Clary when he shouldn't have... it felt like he knew he should know her, and he had a feeling that something was missing or off, but couldn't tell what it was because Clary was so important to him. I also loved when Jace was playing piano at the wedding because it felt like everything was finally over, and they were getting a nice and peaceful moment.
HOWEVER! I did NOT like how Cassandra Clare made her characters go through the trauma and hurt of losing Simon and their relationships with him... they had to mourn someone who was still alive... and then have him remember them at the end anyways. It felt like it undermined the entire sacrifice he made, and it was upsetting. Did I want Simon to actually forget everyone? No. But, I think undoing it was just beyond ridiculous, and there was absolutely in having it happen in the first place.
